VENLO, Netherlands, October 18, 2016/3BL Media/ – Employees from Arrow Electronics’ Venlo office volunteered their time last month to support the Maria Auxiliatrix Run (M.A.-Run), an annual two-day event that centers on giving back to individuals with disabilities.

During the event, motorcycle riders partner with individuals with mental and physical disabilities to tour the Venlo streets. These teams are meant to remain the same each year, with many teams unchanged since the inception of the M.A.-Run in 1987.

Peter Andrieu, vice president of Arrow’s logistics and operations in Europe commented, “It was particularly great to see the faces of so many children enjoying their tours in sidecars and on the backs of motorcycles. Our Arrow volunteer team did all of the necessary tasks with great enthusiasm in support of the M.A.-Run.  I am very proud of our team.”

Twenty-eight Arrow volunteers helped with a variety of tasks during the event, including controlling traffic, loading and unloading sidecars and wheel chairs, photographing teams, constructing tables and chairs, and cooking hamburgers and food for over 1,500 people. Many Arrow employees have already signed up to participate in next year’s M.A.-Run, demonstrating how Arrow employees around the world are dedicated to guiding innovation forward by giving back.
