(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) ATLANTA, GA -  September 30, 2011 – Sterling Planet announced today that television stations across the nation will air in early October two episodes of the “Eco Company” show featuring sustainability in Connecticut. This marks the first time that the California-based TV production crew has ventured outside the state for filming.

The decision to travel across the nation to Connecticut and showcase environmentally beneficial practices speaks to the state’s level of involvement in sustainable practices. “Connecticut is a leader in sustainability, clean energy and support for local food. This is why Eco Company selected our state to be the first state outside of California to be featured,” said Robert A. Maddox, Jr., Sterling Planet’s Chief Sustainability Officer, who met with the show’s executive producer earlier in the year and promoted Connecticut for the program.   Sterling Planet provided financial sponsorships to help offset remote production costs, as did the Connecticut Clean Energy Investment and Finance Authority. Sterling Planet is a provider of renewable energy from Connecticut and other regional locations for the state’s clean energy program, CTCleanEnergyOptionsSM. Through this program, customers of Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating can choose renewable energy from wind and small hydro projects.   Due to the abundance of Connecticut content for the show, two episodes were produced.  The first features fuel cell energy in Torrington, Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain and the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge in Portland. The second show features BioPur, Sun One Organic Farm, Yale University and Common Ground High School.   Connecticut viewers can see the first episode on Saturday, October 1, at 12:30 p.m. on Fox 61 or on Sunday, October 2, on PIX Channel 11 out of New York City. The second episode airs on Saturday, October 8, at 12:30 p.m. on Fox 61 or on Sunday, October 9, at noon on PIX Channel 11 out of New York City.   Scheduled broadcasts outside of Connecticut are posted at the Eco Company website at http://www.eco-company.tv/tvshow/local-stations. The video segments are also posted on the site for viewing at any time.
