Charities@Work 2012 Annual Summit Honors Award Winners

For Employee Engagement Excellence and Leadership, Lifetime Achievement

(3BL Media) New York, NY - April 4, 2012 – Charities@Work today announced recipients of its 2012 Employee Engagement Awards, including: Excellence Award, JPMorgan Chase; Employee Engagement Leadership: TIAA-CREF, Wells Fargo, UnitedHealth Group and Accenture; and Lifetime Achievement Awards: Viki Betancourt, World Bank and Tom Tobin, Global Impact.

JPMorgan Chase was presented with the Excellence Award, for leadership in employee engagement, dedication to Charities@Work partners and leadership on the advisory council, and vision for the partnerships between corporations and nonprofit organizations.

Employee Engagement Leadership recognition was awarded to TIAA-CREF for growing a culture of engagement; to Wells Fargo for sustaining employee engagement; to UnitedHealth Group for integrating engagement programs; and to Accenture for building the business case to integrate all of its engagement programs.

Viki Betancourt was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the philanthropic community and her dedication to impacting the lives of people in need. Through her work with the Community Connections Fund and the World Bank, she reshaped the employee giving campaign and disaster response program. In the last 10 years, contributions to the World Bank’s employee giving campaign increased more than 600 percent. In addition, Betancourt serves on a variety of boards of foundations and nonprofit organizations, and is a strong supporter of Charities@Work.

Tom Tobin also received a Lifetime Achievement Award for nearly 20 years of dedication to Global Impact and assuring help for the world’s most vulnerable people. During his tenure, Tobin developed a robust workplace giving program for Global Impact and managed various other critical services for corporations, such as Global Impact’s Disaster Relief Program.

The awards were presented during the 11th Annual Charities@Work Best Practices Summit on Engagement, Giving and Volunteerism. This year’s conference theme is “The Engagement Cycle:  Creating and Sustaining Effective Employee Engagement.”
