The 3BL Media video team was on location at the 2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit to capture footage and insights from the annual event. This series of videos captures comments from thought leaders and practitioners about effective community involvement programs

We were thrilled to have Carol Cone, Global Chair of Business and Social Purpose at Edelman, present the keynote address at the 2012 VolunteerMatch Client Summit in San Francisco. Carol spoke about “The Radically Engaged Business,” providing insight and guidance into trends and best practices for companies that want to create true engagement and impact in today’s world.

In this video Carol talks about key changes that have influenced corporate engagement strategies recently:

  • The recession has caused a significantly decreased ability for companies to give money.
  • Employees are increasingly demanding more comprehensive volunteering programs – they want to feel good about who they’re working for.
  • The Internet and social media has created a world of transparency and accountability that makes no exceptions.

“It’s not about if a brand or a company is going to get engaged in society and social issues,” Carol says in the video. “It’s now about the how.

Carol goes on to describe VolunteerMatch’s unique ability to guide companies with best practices, technology tools and community building resources.
