WASHINGTON, Nov. 27, 2013 /3BL Media/ – With Black Friday right around the corner, LG Electronics USA is urging consumers to “Do 1 Thing ENERGY STAR” and look for the ENERGY STAR label and “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient” designation when making their home appliance and consumer electronics purchases.

ENERGY STAR qualified products help consumers save money on operating costs by reducing energy use, and the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient program is an initiative to help consumers easily identify the most efficient products in their categories among those that have earned the ENERGY STAR label.

In 2013, more than 90 LG products have been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as ENERGY STAR Most Efficient, a 55 percent increase from the total number of products that earned the Most Efficient designation in 2012.

This holiday season, American shoppers can choose from more than 650 ENERGY STAR-certified LG products across multiple categories – from HDTVs and computer monitors to refrigerators and washing machines to air conditioners.

“Gifters always look for deals on Black Friday. LG reminds consumers that many products come with two price tags: the purchase price and the price of operating the products. ENERGY STAR qualified and products recognized as Most Efficient will help consumers save energy, save money and fight climate change,” said Wayne Park, president and CEO, LG Electronics USA. “With LG, it’s all possible. You don’t have to sacrifice performance or style to have energy efficiency.”

With EPA’s ENERGY STAR program, fighting climate change is something everyone can do, Park explained. LG works year round to educate consumers, retailers and industry about ways we can all reduce our energy consumption.  So far this year, American consumers have purchased more than 1.6 million LG ENERGY STAR Most Efficient qualified products in 2013.
