CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, January 15th:

The Green Meetings Council Industry Conference, to be held next month in Denver, will focus on defining the value of sustainable meetings. The conference will address how sustainability practices and recent green meeting standards are changing the way organizations which are driven by corporate social responsibility strategies can evaluate the return on investment of such meetings. Presenters will include speakers from The Gap, MeetGreen, Oracle, and the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group.

CSR Asia and the Asian Institute for Technology have partnered to open a new, joint organization, The Asian Center for Corporate Social Responsibility at AIT, in Bangkok. The new Center will work across the Asia-Pacific region with a particular emphasis on Thailand and the Mekong sub-region. Its mission is to advance the development and implementation of sustainability solutions and CSR for business. Its director is Leena Wokeck, who formerly worked at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Secretariat in Amsterdam.
