Students and teachers from 15 public schools across the nation convened at the brand new Samsung 837 building in New York City yesterday to present their STEM-driven projects in front of a live panel of judges. Five schools will be selected as National Winners in the Solve for Tomorrow contest, which challenges young minds to tap into their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to solve a problem affecting their local community. From designing prosthetic enhancements for wounded veterans to filtering contaminated drinking water, the 15 National Finalist schools are tackling real-world problems in their backyards.

The contest received 1,000 more entries this year than last year, totaling 4,100 applicants. The judges’ panel, made up of Samsung employees and partners, will review each project and determine three Grand Prize winners in early April. Samsung employees will select a fourth grand prize winner, and a fifth, the Community Choice Award winner, will be determined by a public vote on Twitter and Instagram.

To review the individual project details and vote for the Community Choice Award winner, visit [www.samsung.com/us/solvefortomorrow/finalists](http://www.samsung.com/us/solvefortomorrow/finalists).
