 # Whole Planet Foundation Virtual 5K Raises $25,000 for Low-Income Entrepreneurs

") Microcredit is small loans – no formal collateral, no formal contract – provided to the world’s poorest people for the chance to create or expand a small business, often homebased, and generate income. 

 

Five hundred and fifteen participants joined Whole Planet Foundation’s [2021 Power Your Purpose Virtual 5K](https://wholeplanetfoundation.org/power-your-purpose-5k-sponsorship/) to run, walk, bike or move for microcredit. Registration fees, donations and sponsorships from this online event will fund more than 145 microcredit loans through Whole Planet Foundation, creating 760 opportunities for low-income entrepreneurs and their family members to change their own lives through their own hard work. Microcredit is small loans – no formal collateral, no formal contract – provided to the world’s poorest people for the chance to create or expand a small business, often homebased, and generate income.

Participants received a finisher’s medal and 6oz bottle of TRUFF Black Truffle Oil as a gift with their registration donation. We celebrated participants on social media by sharing users’ Instagram posts using #PowerYourPurpose5K.

Whole Planet Foundation deeply appreciates Ten Thousand Dollar Fund donors as Virtual 5K honorees including Divina, EVOLVE, Guayakí Yerba Mate, Mad Hippie, nuun, ORGANIC INDIA, TRUFF, Vital Farms and WTRMLN WTR.
