To help you keep up with what’s going on with kids, families, schools, and technology, we’ve compiled a list of interesting stories our team’s been reading over the past week. What have you been reading? Tell us below or Tweet [@TrendISKF](https://twitter.com/trendiskf)

- David Cameron’s ban on porn in the UK in the interest of children is met with [criticism](http://ow.ly/nlUOP) based on a review of other country’s attempts to choose censorship first

- [Techcrunch](http://ow.ly/nm4I9) also weighed in, calling the ban in the UK “ridiculous”

- NEW STUDY: In other news, a recent [study](http://ow.ly/nm52y) shows young people increased the amount of media they consumed by more than one hour and a half to almost 7½ a day between 2004 and 2009, which means teaching kids to use the Internet safely and responsibly is more important than ever

- And lastly, is Facebook still hip with teens? Facebook says yes, but a Pew Internet study says otherwise. A few perspectives:
    - Facebook [Q2 earnings comments ](http://ow.ly/nm6ho)
    - Pew study on [Teens and Social Media](http://ow.ly/nm5U2)
