CHARLESTON, S.C., June 25, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) announced today that the company will donate $100,000 to the Palmetto Project in support of the Lowcountry Ministries – Reverend Pinckney Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support the victims, their families and programmatic ministries of the late Rev. Clementa Pinckney. The grant is in response to the June 17 shootings at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.

The $100,000 grant will specifically support counseling services for families, survivors and church members, and local initiatives serving vulnerable populations, youth projects, and diversity and inclusion training, with a focus on ending racism.

“Wells Fargo is committed to honoring the victims, supporting their families and recognizing the efforts of the Rev. Pinckney,” said Rick Redden, Wells Fargo Lead Regional President for the Carolinas. “We want to join the City of Charleston in promoting unity and community support during this challenging time. Our team members, customers and local communities around the Carolinas have all been impacted by this tragedy. We hope our contribution will play an important role in the healing process.”

Persons interested in donating to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund, which has been established by the City of Charleston to raise funds to aid the victims’ families, can visit any Wells Fargo banking store.
