 # VolunteerMatch Partners With AmeriCorps and California Volunteers to Honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

OAKLAND, Calif., January 11, 2022 /3BL Media/ - VolunteerMatch, the largest nonprofit network on the web connecting volunteers with opportunities to give back, is partnering with AmeriCorps and California Volunteers, Office of the Governor to help people find ways to give back in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

VolunteerMatch and AmeriCorps developed a[ robust search tool](https://americorps.gov/newsroom/events/mlk-day) to make it even easier for people to be of service in their communities. People can explore a wide variety of volunteer opportunities across the U.S. — all in one place — including VolunteerMatch; AmeriCorps; California Volunteers, Office of the Governor; Idealist; JustServe; MENTOR; and [Volunteer.gov](http://volunteer.gov/).

“When we all serve, we honor Dr. King’s legacy, and make our own,” said California Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday. “Through our partnership with VolunteerMatch, and Governor Newsom’s commitment to volunteerism, we are thrilled to engage all Californians in tackling our most pressing challenges together this MLK Day.”

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service. Volunteers can give time to make our communities more equitable through both in person and virtual volunteering.
