Our Team Up For Women®! Campaign just ended. If you participated, thank you so much.

Whether you gave $5 or $5,000, your gift matters. Yes, really, it does.

I admit that for a long time I didn't really think my $5 donation would make a difference.

But author and philanthropist Wendy Smith is out to prove people like me wrong. And I think she does a good job.

Wendy’s book, Give A Little: How Your Small Donations Can Transform Our World, gives great examples of how simple, inexpensive things -- like a water filter, a bed, a net or a goat – can change a family, a town and even a nation. If you want to learn more about Wendy’s book or thoughts, check out her blog,

I was surprised to learn that in 2007, ordinary Americans gave $229 billion to charitable causes – that’s more than 82 times what the Gates Foundation gave that same year.

So yes, your gift matters. You keep The Mary Kay Foundation alive.

Independent Future Executive Senior Sales Director Janis Clemens totally gets this!

She set up a piggy bank for The Mary Kay Foundation℠. She sold a few clothes for $2 each and added the money to her bank. By the time her bank was full, she had collected $250 for The Mary Kay Foundation℠.

“This is not for any kudos for me, it’s about paying it forward to those who support research today,” she writes in an email to The Mary Kay Foundation℠. “It’s a small idea that can have big results.”

Thank you Janis!

Yes, Mary Kay Ash and Mary Kay Inc. heavily support The Mary Kay Foundation℠. Their generous support allows us to use 97 cents of your dollar to go directly to cancer research and domestic violence awareness.

But without you, The Mary Kay Foundation℠ wouldn't continue indefinitely.

You matter! You are one of our valuable resources!

Now go out and make it a great day for you and for someone else!
