GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 11, 2017 /3BL Media/ - In the latest chapter of the President to President series, Dr. Santa J. Ono, Ph.D., president of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, explains how the university restructured campus housing to accommodate UBC’s increasing enrollment.

“The Commons Concept: Building Dynamic Living and Learning Environments through Integrated Design” describes the university’s commitment to build four campus commons to create a more dynamic housing environment where students can live, eat, learn and socialize, all in one place. By revamping the campus housing structure, the University of British Columbia plans to cultivate a thriving campus community for faculty, students and those residing near the campus.

Concentrating on campus sustainability and promoting students’ wellbeing, the university’s plan enhances the quality of life for the community at large.
