 # Symantec Joins Sustainability Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 20, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) announces today that they will join the [Sustainability Accounting Standards Board](http://www.sasb.org/) (SASB) [advisory council](http://www.sasb.org/sasb/advisory-council-2/), a network of professionals that support and promote the work of SASB. Symantec is also participating in SASB’s [working group](http://www.sasb.org/sustainability-standards/iwgs/) to help develop sustainability accounting standards for the Technology and Communications sector.

SASB is a 501c3 organization that provides sustainability accounting standards for use by publicly-listed corporations in the US in disclosing material sustainability issues for the benefit of investors and the public. SASB standards, which are being developed for 88 industries, are designed to inform disclosure of sustainability issues in the Form 10-K and 20-F.

Symantec is currently committed to issuing a Corporate Responsibility Report every year. Additionally, quarterly communications on material issues are discussed in the [Corporate Responsibility Snapshot](http://www.symantec.com/corporate_responsibility/snapshot.jsp), a Symantec newsletter distributed to over 20,000 stakeholders.
