The Natural Step Canada’s Sustainability for Leaders Course - Level 1: Foundations is a unique program which brings together core concepts of sustainability taught by inspirational speakers and draws upon 20 years of practical experience.

**Prospective Participants**
This course is designed for existing and emerging sustainability practitioners who want to gain the knowledge, skills, and tools to take a strategic, systems approach to communicating, planning, and managing sustainability initiatives. Graduates are able to explain and begin to apply [The Natural Step Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development](http://www.thenaturalstep.org/en/canada/our-approach) to help their business, community, or organization take a leadership role in sustainability. There are no course pre-requisites.

**Course Fee**
- Early Bird: $650 CDN + tax
- Regular: $750 CDN + tax
- Members of The Natural Step Exchange and partners: $600 CDN + tax
- A group discount of 10% off is available for organizations that register 3 or more participants (discount will be applied automatically when you register online)

The Natural Step Canada’s Sustainability Learning Programs are designed using a dialogue education approach to learning design and facilitation. You will actively engage in hands-on, participatory learning tasks that will help you dive into the content, apply it to real situations, and prepare to transfer what you learn to your business, community, or organization.
**Learning Objectives**
After taking this course, you will be able to:
- ***Describe*** the current sustainability opportunities and risks facing businesses, communities, and organizations
- ***Listen*** to stories and case studies from leaders in organizations moving toward sustainability
- ***Apply*** the key steps of The Natural Step’s ABCD methodology for sustainability planning, using a case study
- ***Present*** the core concepts of [ The Natural Step Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development](http://www.thenaturalstep.org/en/canada/our-approach) in a short presentation and receive feedback from peers
- ***Strategize*** how to effectively promote sustainability in your business, community, or organization
- ***Reflect*** on how The Framework can help you take a leadership role in sustainability
