Even at 9 a.m., every kid’s face in the room shined with excitement at [Eastman Avenue Elementary School in East Los Angeles](https://eastman-lausd-ca.schoolloop.com/). Sparky the Wonderbug was about to buzz in for a performance of “[A Bug’s Light!](http://nationaltheatre.com/program/bugs-light/)”, an interactive show designed to teach children how to stay safe around electricity.

The school is one of [40 throughout Central and Southern California](http://newsroom.edison.com/internal_redirect/cms.ipressroom.com.s3.amazonaws.com/166/files/20157/2015%20A%20Bug%26%2339%3Bs%20Light%20Performance%20Schedule_082615.pdf) that will host the play this year, performed by actors from the [National Theatre for Children](http://nationaltheatre.com/) and sponsored by Southern California Edison (SCE).
