CONTENT: Press Release

Through eco-outreach campaigns and complying with global greening directives, Sealevel Systems is actively expanding its environmental responsibility initiatives to protect the planet for generations to come.

In recognition of World Environment Day on June 5, Sealevel partnered with Mokugift to plant trees in honor of its customers and to provide them with a sustainable gift that helps fight global warming. The eco-program encourages customers to take advantage of paperless publications, such as Sealevel’s monthly e-newsletter. Sealevel has pledged to plant almost 2,500 trees this summer. The company also plans to partner with The Nature Conservancy’s Global Marine Initiative later this year to help sustain coral reefs and the ecosystems that rely on them. Sealevel employees are encouraged to become more aware and active in making the company a more ecologically-friendly workplace. The company has begun quarterly eco-audits to identify ways that employees can reduce, reuse and recycle. The results are reported in an internal e-newsletter alongside tips for living a more eco-friendly life.

RoHS/WEEE Compliance

Sealevel is committed to providing its customers with high-quality products that meet RoHS (2002/95/EC), WEEE (2002/96/EC), and other green initiatives being adopted by the global community. The RoHS directive restricts the use of lead and certain other hazardous materials in electronic products marketed to the European Union. Sealevel is designing new products for RoHS compatibility as well as modifying legacy products and manufacturing processes for RoHS compliance. The company offers both RoHS compliant and non-compliant products to meet global and domestic customer demand. The European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive restricts the use of hazardous substances and the recycling of electrical and electric equipment. All compliant Sealevel products display the universal WEEE symbol. To learn more about Sealevel’s green initiatives, visit

About mokugift

A social venture focused on customer experience and tangible, positive benefit to the environment and society, Mokugift makes it easy and rewarding to plant trees, through online “gifting.” Giving a mokugift tree is similar to sending an e-card, and recipients can proudly display their trees online at Facebook, MySpace, My Yahoo!, and 50 other popular Web sites. An official partner of the United Nations Environment Programme's Billion Tree Campaign, mokugift collaborates with award-winning nonprofit agroforestry organizations such as Trees For The Future and Sustainable Harvest International to plant trees in twelve countries: Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Burundi, Senegal, Zambia, India, the Philippines and Haiti. Using environmentally sustainable methods, farmers in these countries plant mokugift trees to restock existing forests and enable more diverse, productive and economically sustainable land-use systems.
