Leadership matters more than ever – but how do educators lead? New Leaders has worked with educators in more than 30 communities nationwide to develop leadership skills through a variety of programs, and many of their resources are online. New Leaders’ mission is to ensure that educators have the leadership skills critical to raising academic achievement for all children, especially students in poverty and students of color. The disruption caused by the pandemic has created an unprecedented challenge for these leaders, and New Leaders is working overtime to support them through a virtual platform, in addition to continued remote mentoring. To ensure that mentoring is most productive, New Leaders has been breaking up online cohorts into smaller learning groups and increasing individual coaching. For educators who would like to access helpful content, New Leaders is developing and curating an ongoing list of resources to support school and system leaders with quick, reliable, and trustworthy resources.
