A truly moving film that makes us look at the world with fresh eyes and a desire to make it better. Salgado​ ​was born in ​1944 in ​Aimorés, a small town in southeast Brazil, a mining center and ecologically devastated region that sits on the edges of an important river called Rio Doce. At 18 he moved to Vitória, the capital of Espirito Santo State to attend the college of economics. After completing his college education, he earned a master's degree in economics from the University of São Paulo. He began to study for a doctorate in economics at the University of Paris, but moved to London to work as an economist for the International Coffee Organization.
