The report was reviewed by the Global Reporting Initiative and achieved again the best possible Application Level “A”. It is available online at and covers four fields of action: Commerzbank significantly expanded its range of sustainable products and services for its customers. It offers its corporates a simple form of funding entitled 'SolarLight', which enables them to reduce their exposure to changes in energy prices by installing their own solar panels. Commerz Real offered prospective customers a number of attractive closed-end solar investment funds. The Bank also meets its responsibilities toward its employees. Acting in concert with the other DAX 30 companies, the Bank made a commitment to take specific measures to increase the proportion of women in managerial roles and underpinned these efforts by launching a number of targets, programs and initiatives. A major step in the field of environmental protection was the establishment of the Group Environmental Committee. Representatives of all the relevant Commerzbank departments discuss key environmental issues and initiate the necessary measures. Commerzbank's CO2 emissions have been almost halved compared with 2007, which means that the target of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2011 has been exceeded ahead of schedule. Commerzbank also takes its social responsibility very seriously. This policy is underscored by its Foundation Center, which has been endowed with assets of some €100 million.
