The commitment is part of the company’s four-pillar strategy, which integrates initiatives across talent management, community engagement, public policy and supplier diversity, to drive progress and advance increased diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) across its workforce. As part of the philanthropic commitment, the company will provide a two-to-one matching gift for every dollar Raytheon Technologies' employees donate to select nonprofits working in the area of racial justice, the company will donate two. The nonprofits participating in the matching gift program were selected in collaboration with the company’s Black employee resource groups. They include the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the National Urban League and the Equal Justice Initiative. Each was chosen for its exceptional work in advancing racial, economic and social justice. “Our goal is to effectively partner with organizations on programs that empower individuals by creating tangible opportunities in the workforce and advance our communities to drive meaningful societal impact,” said Pam Erickson, Raytheon Technologies chief communications officer and head of corporate philanthropy.” This five-year, $25 million commitment builds on the Company’s recent actions toward advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. Last month Raytheon Technologies finalized commitments to the Congressional Black Caucus for the establishment of its first-ever Defense and Aerospace Policy Fellowships, and the Faith & Politics Institute for initiatives that will help drive important bipartisan policy conversations to address issues like diversity and racial equity. The company is also providing money, resources and support to more than a dozen organizations that focus on STEM education, and work in communities underrepresented in technical fields. These include the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Girls Who Code, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History, NAF, and the National Society of Black Engineers, among others. “The best way to support our employees is to ensure an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive at Raytheon Technologies, but there is more we can do for the people and communities beyond where we work and live.
