In November, the U.S. observed [National American Indian Heritage Month](https://nativeamericanheritagemonth.gov/about/) by celebrating traditions and contributions by Indigenous people. Yet, while there are [5.2 million](https://www.cnay.org/resource-hub/fast-facts/) people who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native – a [39 percent increase](https://www.ncai.org/about-tribes/demographics) from 2000 – many continue to face [severe inequalities](https://www.ihs.gov/newsroom/factsheets/disparities/). Today, we examine how one company is making efforts toward amending these historic and persistent inequities to invest in Indigenous communities.
