Parents are the architects of their children’s brains, especially during the earliest years. Research shows that the first five years of a child’s life builds the foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. Parents need to be able to provide their children with security, enrichment and time during these incredibly formative years – but, too often, workplace culture runs counter to a positive work/life balance. Employers are paying the price, too, with good workers leaving in droves due to work-family conflict. With the neuroscience of early childhood as a guide, we can apply what we know about foundational brain development to inform a new way of doing business.
