In working to create a future that is just for all people, the International Living Future Institute recently hosted the Equity Drafting Table, an event held in collaboration with the Seattle Design Festival. The event challenged the ILFI’s own assumptions about inclusivity; the group realized that they must work to foster a culture of inclusivity to make people from all backgrounds feel welcome. It’s not enough just to include equity as a component in the ILFI’s programs, but the institution itself must strive to make each community it’s a part of more equitable and just.
