Original Conference Board of Canada Research - Immigrants as Innovators: An Element of Canada's Strategy for Global Competitiveness**

**Featuring:

In a recent article in The Globe and Mail, Conference Board President, Anne Golden described Canada’s innovation performance:

*If Canadians were as good at innovating as we are at explaining why we’re bad at it, Canada wouldn’t rank 14th among industrialized nations in ... innovation. And because innovation is the key to improving productivity, we wouldn’t be earning $7,000 less a person each year than Americans.*

Prepared for the Board’s Leaders’ Roundtable on Immigration, the research report featured in this session studies the relationship between immigration and innovation in Canada, making the case for more deliberate use of the pioneering talents of new Canadians.
