Approximately 1,200 employees, will participate in activities to support Campbell's commitment to improving the health of young people by reducing hunger and childhood obesity. Campbell's "Make a Difference Week" will result in over 3,600 employee service hours and $50,000 in grants to partner non-profits. As part of its "Nourishing Our Neighbors" community program, Campbell employees will participate in projects ranging from sorting and boxing food at the Food Bank of South Jersey in Pennsauken and at Philabundance in Philadelphia; prepping community gardens with the Camden Children's Garden and gleaning produce for donation at local farms with Farmers Against Hunger. Campbell's executive leadership team also will be prepping and serving nutritious lunches to elementary school students at Holy Name School in Camden and leading physical activities with the children there. Campbell is also partnering with Feeding America as part of a national backpack program taking place in nine of our locations across the country, including Napoleon, Ohio, Sacramento, Calif., Milwaukee, Wis., Richmond, Va. and Aiken, S.C. Employees will fill backpacks with food that will sustain a child for a weekend to be distributed to families in need. Campbell expanded national "Make a Difference Day" to "Make a Difference Week" five years ago after a record number of employees expressed interest in volunteering. The following is a list of highlighted local activities for "Make a Difference Week." Monday, Oct. 24 Holy Name School 700 N. 5th Street Camden, N.J. 10:00 a.m. - Noon Volunteers will prep and serve lunch to students and participate in physical activities for the youth. Tuesday, Oct. 25 Farmers Against Hunger Strawberry Hill Farm 3 Waln Road Chesterfield Township, N.J. 11:00 a.m. - Noon Volunteers will "glean" an area farm by harvesting nutritionally sound produce. The produce will be donated to feeding programs in Camden. Tuesday, Oct. 25 Cathedral Kitchen 1514 Federal Street Camden, N.J. 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Volunteers will make sandwiches, trail mix and pack lunches for distribution to local shelters and the homeless throughout Camden. Wednesday, Oct. 26 Philabundance 3616 S. Galloway Street Philadelphia, Pa. 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Volunteers will pack food boxes with meat and produce and bag bulk rice and beans. Thursday, Oct. 27 MANNA 2323 Ranstead Street Philadelphia, Pa. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Volunteers will prep and package meals for home delivery to people with life-threatening illnesses. Friday, Oct. 28 Neighborhood Center 278 Kaighns Avenue Camden, N.J. 9 a.m. - Noon Volunteers will be participating in various renovation projects including painting, replacing 30 feet of concrete sidewalk and repairing a fence surrounding the facility.
