##### CECP Drives 2014 Corporate Involvement in Movement to Celebrate and Encourage Giving with More than a 50% Increase in Participation by CECP-Affiliated Companies

NEW YORK, December 2, 2014 /3BL Media/ - [CECP](http://cecp.co/), a nonprofit organization focused on creating a better world through business and a founding partner of [\#GivingTuesday](http://www.givingtuesday.org/) announces unprecedented participation in #GivingTuesday by some of the world’s largest companies. In the third year of the movement to celebrate and encourage giving, the corporate sector has partnered in a wide variety of activities, from employee volunteering and engagement events to fundraising efforts linked to sales to innovative community enrichment programs.

“As a founding partner of #GivingTuesday, CECP helped catalyze the business community around this global movement, and we are extremely proud of the substantial growth in corporate support year-on-year,” said **Margaret Coady, Executive Director, CECP**. “Today’s corporate-led initiatives exemplify the innovative ways businesses are leveraging their unique assets toward sustainable solutions to societal issues.”

CECP, a coalition of more than 150 CEOs united in the belief that societal improvement is an essential measure of business performance, has been well placed to support the growth of the movement by galvanizing affiliated companies and providing tools, best practices, and one-on-one consultation. This year early estimates show more than 160 large businesses participating in the #GivingTuesday movement with diverse programs from all sectors of the corporate world.

**\#GivingTuesday Business Community Highlights:**

**Visa Inc.** is supporting the American Red Cross by making #GivingTuesday donations go further when using Visa Checkout. Visa will donate $15 for every American Red Cross donation made using Visa Checkout, up to $250,000.

**Samsung Electronics North America, Inc.** will participate in #GivingTuesday for the first time this year by encouraging employees across the United States to take advantage of their corporate matching gift program **Samsung Gives** and sharing with employees how the $2.1 million gift made on their behalf to Children’s Health Fund, Wounded Warrior Project, and American Red Cross has helped those in need.

**J.C. Penney Company, Inc.** will invite children from local Boys & Girls Clubs of America from across the country to participate in special shopping experiences to select gifts for their families and will also be making a $50,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and a $50,000 donation to the USO.

**CECP** will be working this #GivingTuesday with a cross section of stakeholders including issue experts and leaders from the nonprofit and corporate sectors in a session on the Ebola crisis to identify opportunities and innovative solutions for the business community in response to this crisis.
