Through its partnership with Container Solutions Inc., ekō is able to scale up production of sustainable container homes to a point of completing 5 homes per week. “The combination of efficient production along with custom elements makes the ekō housing solution unique, especially when it comes to rebuilding communities following a crisis,” commented team lead, Peter Rodriquez. Following a natural disaster, like the one that hit western Kentucky with devastating tornados in December 2021, housing is often the most complex and longest lead-time resource to procure, and essential for communities to rebuild. Residences are left fending for themselves and trying to rebuild their lives out of a shelter.
