PITTSBURGH, March 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Kenya T. Boswell, BNY Mellon’s Charitable Giving Manager for the southwestern Pennsylvania region, will be honored at the Harlem YMCA’s National Salute to Black Achievers in Industry gala on March 20, 2014 in New York City. The Black Achiever in Industry event celebrates the contributions of leading corporations and their selected employees for their corporate leadership and their service to the community. Boswell is being recognized for her professional accomplishments, community involvement and commitment to diversity.

“Kenya was selected for her notable personal and professional accomplishments, as well as for championing diversity through her community work in the Pittsburgh region and with IMPACT, BNY Mellon’s business resource group for multicultural employees,” said James P. McDonald, BNY Mellon’s director of global philanthropy. “Kenya exemplifies honor and integrity, and we’re proud to have her represent BNY Mellon at this prestigious event.”

In her role as BNY Mellon’s Charitable Giving Manager for the southwestern Pennsylvania region, Boswell is responsible for managing Corporate, Tax Credit and Foundation investments that support the company’s philanthropic, business and Community Reinvestment Act objectives. She is also vice president of the BNY Mellon Foundation of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in February 2008, Boswell worked in Duquesne Light’s Corporate Communications and Community Affairs department, where her responsibilities included managing the company’s signature *Partners in Education* program, developing innovative signature initiatives, such as the *Power of Warmth*, and identifying opportunities for executive volunteerism.

Boswell is an Advisory Committee Member for Carnegie Mellon University’s Program for Research & Outreach on Gender Equity in Society (PROGRESS), a Community Advisory Board Member for WQED Multimedia, a Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board Youth Policy Council Member and a member of the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics Workforce Development Committee. She was recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s *Top 40 under 40* leaders in 2008 and by the New Pittsburgh Courier as one of their 2011 Fab 40 honorees.

Boswell received a B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, a M.S. in Management from Robert Morris University and recently completed Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz Negotiation Academy for Women.
