ORLANDO, Fla., August 2, 2022 /3BL Media/ - Rick Goings, Chairman and Co-founder of the [World Federation of Youth Clubs](http://wfyc.org) (WFYC), announced today that NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns has been named as a Global Ambassador of the international organization.

Throughout Towns’ seven-year career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he has consistently engaged in community outreach, primarily focusing on youth, health and wellness, and social justice. He provides support for families who have a child with cancer or other life-threatening medical conditions, supports COVID-19 testing, vaccine awareness and education, and uses his platform to advance equity and social justice. He is the recipient of the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for November 2021, a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion Award, a finalist for the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award, and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition.

“Karl-Anthony’s dedication to youth and his unwavering commitment to young people around the world is exactly what is needed,” said Rick Goings. “He is an advocate for kids because he believes in the power of investing time and energy into their potential. WFYC is pleased to have a Global Ambassador who brings great passion to the work of providing safe spaces, opportunities for youth and a commitment to creating generational change.”

“I feel so fortunate to be able to give back and be involved in my community. I’m thrilled to be able to provide opportunities to young people to help them realize their potential,” said Towns. “Working together with WFYC will create increased awareness of the needs of young people around the world and help amplify the impact we can have on the lives of kids and their families. It’s exciting to think of all we will be able to do to lift up and empower youth.”
