On Thursday, April 10, Verizon representatives joined Jefferson Township Middle School faculty at a celebratory event to recognize students from the school for winning Best in Nation in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge.

Out of nearly 1,300 submissions from across the country, the students’ "Super Science Girl" app concept was one of eight winning designs. Once built, the app will create interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematic (STEM) related activities to encourage young girls to pursue STEM careers.
