 # The IVECO Factory in Madrid: Working for Ever Greater Social and Workforce Inclusivity

") IVECO’s facility in Madrid, Spain is committed to a more inclusive workforce, employing people with disabilities on their production lines, alongside able-bodied workers. 

 

The creation of an inclusive environment in which diversity is valued, and where the entire workforce can realize their potential, is one of the principles by which [IVECO](https://www.iveco.com/uk/Pages/Home-Page.aspx), a commercial vehicles brand of [CNH Industrial N.V.](https://www.cnhindustrial.com/en-us/Pages/homepage.aspx), is governed. Within its framework of Corporate Social Responsibility, IVECO has renewed the labor agreement until 2023, which foresees the social and working inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in its Madrid factory. First implemented in 2017, this initiative is in collaboration with the [Juan XXIII Foundation](https://www.fundacionjuanxxiii.org/), an organization which has over 50 years’ experience in this field.

Through this initiative, five trained and experienced workers with disabilities from the Foundation's Special Employment Center are employed on the IVECO factory in Madrid’s production line, with a possibility of fulltime employment.

This initiative has resulted in both a more collaborative working environment, and one which is also more organized, cohesive and interconnected. This helps contribute to the Plant’s manufacturing excellence, and the facility has been recognized at gold level in the World Class Manufacturing program.

With actions such as this, IVECO seeks to breakdown prejudices and barriers, placing special emphasis on the business environment, but also on society as a whole.

“We are pleased to be part of a project such as this, and to be able to build an accessible and inclusive workplace for people with disabilities together with the Juan XXIII Foundation,” said Patricia Artigas, member of the IVECO Corporate Social Responsibility committee. “Under this program, IVECO was the first industrial company in Spain to integrate people with cognitive impairments in a production line environment and the project’s real success is in how these individuals have seamlessly integrated into their roles. We can be proud to be part of a Company where diversity is part of our culture, and we are committed to incorporating more people with disabilities into our company and achieving our goal of reducing inequalities."
