NEW YORK, May 3, 2021 /3BL Media/ - The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) received today the amNewYork Top Workplaces 2021 Award, an honor to recognize IWBI’s leading workplace culture validated by employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. The award was presented by Schneps Media, the publisher of *amMetroNewYork* newspaper.

To win the Top Workplaces award, IWBI staff participated in a voluntary and anonymous survey conducted by Energage, an independent employee engagement technology company. The online survey measures 15 culture drivers that are organized around four themes that help define an organization’s workplace health: strong alignment between employees and organizational objectives; a sense of connection that makes employees feel they are valued; a culture of coaching that channels managers’ support and attention to employees; and a high level of effective performance.

This is the first year to recognize top New York City employers by amNewYork. IWBI wins this recognition among 7,960 employers who were invited to have their employees take the survey to be considered for this award, and IWBI ranks second among 20 small business award winners. Among other winners are seven large businesses including Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Capital One Financial, and small businesses including Rightway Healthcare and advertising technology firm Digital Remedy.

“We’re very proud of our healthy workplace culture that attracts, retains and elevates the talented people needed to ensure our success,” said Rachel Hodgdon, president and CEO of IWBI. “Winning the Top Workplaces award highlights our people-first values, and it underlines our mission to promote a culture of health globally through buildings, communities and organizations.”

The Top Workplaces award, according to [Energage](https://energage.com/?utm_source=mediakitPR&utm_medium=pressrelease), is based solely on employee feedback and whether an organization meets the threshold. Recognition by the Top Workplaces award indicates that an organization operates by strong values, promotes effective communications between employees and management and innovates and executes efficiently.

"During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance," said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. "When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business."

Energage, operating under a slogan to make the world a better place to work together, is a purpose-driven company that helps organizations turn employee feedback into useful business intelligence and credible employer recognition through Top Workplaces. Its survey is built on 14 years of culture research and the results from 23 million employees surveyed across more than 70,000 organizations. With access to a unique combination of patented analytic tools and expert guidance, Energage customers lead the competition with an engaged workforce and an opportunity to gain recognition for their people-first approach to culture.
