 # How Elanco Helped Puppies Fight Parvo

  ![Parvo is fast. And it's deadly. Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that attacks a puppy's digestive system and immune defenses. Without treatment, it can be fatal in just days.*](/sites/default/files/styles/carousel_2x/public/images/Fighting-Parvo_Elanco_062226_2-adj.png) 

When cases of canine parvovirus began rising, [Arizona Humane Society](https://www.azhumane.org/) and Elanco jumped into action.   
  
Through collaboration with Elanco, the shelter’s veterinary team was able to use [Trutect™](https://my.elanco.com/us/parvovirus), the first and only monoclonal antibody treatment designed to neutralize the parvo virus, contributing to less hospital time1. In December, 11 puppies were saved thanks to this collaboration and the dedicated veterinary teams caring for them.
