We’re deeply touched that Safeway customers believe in this mission with such passion and generosity.” In addition to helping homeless pets, the money raised through the partnership also goes to AHS’ pet-therapy program, which allows children and adults with disabilities to work with pets at the AHS. AHS also works to place specially trained homeless dogs with individuals with disabilities. “It’s really about people as much as it is about pets,” Dr. Hansen said. “Donations raised at Safeway also reunite lost pets with owners, connect people with special needs to animals through tours, and provide temporary foster care for the pets of those deployed for military service. We are so grateful to Safeway for helping us connect more people and pets, and save the lives of more dogs and cats every day.” [![Albertsons Companies Recipe for Change logo](/sites/default/files/Clients/RecipeForChange-BADGE-Full-Blue-RGB_0.png)](/profiles/albertsons-companies) ### More from Albertsons Safeway Inc. ###### [Albertsons Companies’ Mid-Atlantic Team Packed Snack Bags for the Boys & Girls Club of Chester](/news/albertsons-companies-mid-atlantic-team-packed-snack-bags-boys-girls-club-chester) May 13, 2025 11:30 AM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies and Albertsons Companies Foundation Awarded 2025 Gold Halo Award](/news/albertsons-companies-and-albertsons-companies-foundation-awarded-2025-gold-halo-award) May 8, 2025 1:30 PM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies Store Directors Pack Snacks for Athletes at Special Olympics Washington Spring Games](/news/albertsons-companies-store-directors-pack-snacks-athletes-special-olympics-washington-spring) May 6, 2025 1:00 PM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies Raised $300K for Charitable Causes With Beast Philanthropy in Recent Campaign](/news/albertsons-companies-raised-300k-charitable-causes-beast-philanthropy-recent-campaign) May 1, 2025 11:30 AM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies Southwest Division Volunteers at Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers](/news/albertsons-companies-southwest-division-volunteers-alice-coopers-solid-rock-teen-centers) Apr 30, 2025 1:30 PM ET ###### [Grocers Make a World of Difference on Earth Day](/news/grocers-make-world-difference-earth-day) Apr 29, 2025 2:00 PM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies Partners With Browne Forest Project To Plant Over 65,000 Trees](/news/albertsons-companies-partners-browne-forest-project-plant-over-65000-trees) Apr 25, 2025 3:55 PM ET ###### [Albertsons Companies Celebrates Earth Month With Boise River Walk Clean Up](/news/albertsons-companies-celebrates-earth-month-boise-river-walk-clean) Apr 24, 2025 12:10 PM ET
