As the year is coming to a close, many are reflecting upon the year's passing and planning for 2011. While living a [sustainable lifestyle](http://blog.taigacompany.com/blog/taiga-company/0/0/components-of-a-sustainable-lifestyle) or "green living" has become more of the norm, those living with eco awareness are questioning how well they took eco action in 2010 and how they can add more sustainability concepts in their life in 2011.

Considering that a recent Gallup poll shows that 94% of Americans are aware of Climate Change issues, and of that segment 75% feel that action needs to be taken, benchmarking personal eco actions from year to year makes sense. 

 

Here's where the tried and true adage applies: "What gets measured, gets managed." While expressed more frequently in a business setting, it applies to our personal lives as well. For instance, if you want to lose weight, first you have to know how much you weigh to benchmark your success. Similarly, in living a sustainable lifestyle, you first need to know the areas of your environmental impacts to measure your success.
