Women serve in key management roles within Freeport-McMoRan, including the Chief Financial Officer and two members of the Board of Directors, while an additional 280 women hold manager-level or higher positions. Freeport-McMoRan continues to work toward their target of increasing women in their global workforce as well as women in managerial roles to a minimum of 15 percent. Currently, the percentage of women in the company is about 11 percent globally and varies across geographies. PT Freeport Indonesia, a Freeport-McMoRan company, has been actively recruiting and training women at the Grasberg mine. Seventy-five women are working at PT Freeport Indonesia’s underground mine complex. They remotely operate underground loading equipment using cutting-edge technology.
