 # Entergy’s John Hudson Honored With the 2026 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award

Scouting America’s Southeast Louisiana Council has selected John O. Hudson III, chief external affairs officer and president of the Entergy Charitable Foundation, as one of the 2026 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award honorees. The other honorees include Constable Lambert C. Boissiere Jr., attorney Kim M. Boyle and Dr. Margaret Montgomery. This prestigious recognition, presented by Scouting America’s Southeast Louisiana Council, celebrates individuals whose lifelong commitment to equity, opportunity and community advancement reflects the enduring legacy of Whitney M. Young Jr.

Hudson’s dedication to strengthening communities is evident across every facet of his leadership. Through his roles at Entergy, he has championed initiatives that expand access to critical resources, empower underserved populations, and uplift families throughout the Greater New Orleans area and the Gulf South region. His work has helped drive meaningful change for youth and families, ensuring more people have opportunities to thrive.

Additional Entergy employees who volunteer with Scouting America also attended the ceremony to celebrate Hudson’s recognition. Among them were Nicholas Hamilton and Phillip Durocher, whose ongoing involvement with Scouting America reflects Entergy’s shared commitment to youth development and community service.

A tireless advocate and thoughtful mentor, Hudson is known for leading with compassion, integrity and an unwavering commitment to service. Under his guidance, Entergy’s charitable programs have grown in impact and reach, supporting education, workforce development, economic mobility, and community resilience. His leadership continues to inspire colleagues across the company and partners throughout the region.
