Jul 14, 2011 1:00 PM ET - A new technology for the treatment of wastewater has been developed by General Electric, NRG Energy, and ConocoPhillips. The companies are supporting Israel-based Emefcy, developer of the Megawatter System, which uses bacteria to turn a regular wastewater treatment plant into an electricity-producing bioreactor that produces both clean water and electricity.
