Making simple green choices delivers a positive impact on our society. Doing it 33 million times is to be applauded. Which is the case for DIRECTV as our distribution partner was honored with a 2012 “Innovative” Star of Energy Efficiency Award at last month’s *Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards* in Washington, D.C. On hand to present this year’s award to DIRECTV was Monica Pederson, host of HGTV Green Home and HGTV Smart Home.

An ENERGY STAR® partner since 2009, DIRECTV has earned the award three years in a row and is the only pay TV service to be honored by the EPA for its commitment to energy efficiency. Highlights of the company’s efforts include:
