The [report](http://ethicalperformance.us5.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=a102a1f840f67f04e25a7fc97&id=0741de7a7e&e=9d0659b5a7) recognises the significant steps forward EDF Energy has achieved in the past year, and highlights the efforts that still need to be made in order to achieve its long-term ambitions. 2014 highlights include: - The CO2 intensity from electricity generated fell to 246g CO2/kWh from 256g in 2013. The business is on track to achieve its 2020 and 2030 carbon intensity targets - The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) recognised the company’s strong health and safety performance and Zero Harm programme with its prestigious industry sector award - Significant progress was made towards making a final investment decision on Hinkley Point C, which will provide 7% of the UK’s electricity and will serve as a vital low-carbon source of electricity for decades to come - EDF Energy opened its first offshore wind farm at Teesside, which produces enough low-carbon power for around 40,000 homes - Renewable electricity generation capacity rose to 550MW in 2014 from 529MW in 2013 - EDF Energy’s relative share of complaints to the ombudsman have fallen from 10% in 2013 to 5% in 2014 - The EDF Energy Trust Fund made 4,036 awards worth a total of £2.75m to vulnerable customers - EDF Energy was the first energy company to meet its Government-set Energy Company Obligation (ECO) targets in December 2014, well ahead of the March 2015 deadline - The company supported the installation of 170,000 energy saving measures in 144,000 homes across England, Scotland and Wales - At the end of 2014, the number of schools registered on its award-winning sustainability education programme, the Pod, increased by almost 2,000 – reaching 60% of all schools in the UK - In a survey about the Pod, 90% of students said it taught them to use energy responsibly EDF Energy’s Better Energy Ambitions report is reviewed by Corporate Citizenship who independently assure the reliability of specified performance information it presents. **Click [here](http://ethicalperformance.us5.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=a102a1f840f67f04e25a7fc97&id=761cff8c36&e=9d0659b5a7) to view the report.** **About EDF Energy:** EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and the largest producer of low-carbon electricity, producing around one-fifth of the nation's electricity from its nuclear power stations, wind farms, coal and gas power stations and combined heat and power plants.
