CVS Caremark showcased its commitment to diversity and health care initiatives at the recently-held National Urban League's 2012 Annual Conference in New Orleans. The company, the largest pharmacy health care provider in the United States, offers a range of diversity programs, including multicultural product offerings, health screenings with a focus on urban communities, and innovative workforce initiatives. The Diversity Management Executive Steering Committee of CVS Caremark was recently included among DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy Companies for 2012.

At the conference, CVS Caremark offered mini-makeovers and beauty consultations with some of the popular multicultural product lines sold by the company. It also provided insightful information about the company's programs for diabetes. The offerings at the conference included free health screenings as well as health counseling. The attendees at the event included Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., Founder and President, The RainbowPUSH Coalition; Mayor Michael B. Hancock, Denver, CO, and Frankie M. Brown, National Urban League Trustee and President of the National Council of Urban League Guilds, among others.

David Casey, Vice President, Workforce Strategies and Chief Diversity Officer, CVS Caremark, said: "Our partnership with the National Urban League helps create an even more impactful connection with the multicultural communities we serve. Like us, the Urban League is an organization that has national reach, but they are also very committed to being involved on the local level."
