Hello, I’m Emily Polk and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, March 3rd:

Luxury sports car maker Porsche has added solar energy production to the rooftop of its central parts warehouse in Sachsenheim, Germany. The system generates nearly two million kilowatt-hours per year, equal to the energy consumption of five hundred four-person households. Last year, Porsche North American unveiled its first U.S.–based solar power system in Ontario, California.

Students at Yale University have created the Yale Microfinance Task Force to help relieve world poverty. For the initiative, students will form teams that will compete to raise and invest money through Dvelo.org, a Web site that connects investors with organizations to distribute funding to recipients in developing companies. The Web site uses a new method of microfinance, called person-to–community, which includes returning funds to investors after one year, with interest.
