Pearson has released its 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report. Highlights include several awards in the diversity category. Pearson was awarded the Opportunity Now FTSE Executive Women Award for employing the most female executives. 27 percent of Pearson’s top managers are female. Also, Pearson in the U.S. was recognized for the 10th time as one of 100 Best Employers for Working Mothers.
The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council has released its second report, reviewing the state’s business activities from a triple bottom line perspective. The report describes a decline in water use of 12 percent over the last five years; a rise in generation of wind energy within the state by 117 percent since 2008; and a ranking of retaining more manufacturing jobs per capita than any other state. The Report also notes a higher voter turnout than any state other than Minnesota.
