Cenovus will invest over $6 million in two Canadian companies through its Environmental Opportunity Fund to support renewable energy resources. $2.5 million will go to Saltworks Technologies, which has developed an energy efficient way to convert salt water into fresh water. $3.8 million has been invested in General Fusion, which is developing fusion technology to produce energy through an emission-free process. Cenovus is a Canadian, integrated oil company.
The Saudi Corporate Social Responsibility Forum will begin tomorrow in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. More than 500 government officials, CSR professionals, and top managers of Saudi, Arab, and international companies are expected to attend. The Conference is sponsored by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, with support from the Construction Products Holding Company, a group of 27 companies which specialize in building materials. Construction Products has sponsored programs for scholarships for women students to study architecture and for job opportunities for Saudi youth.
