BISC was created in 2008, inspired by the work of [CECP: the CEO Force for Good](http://cecp.co/), an institution with which Comunitas maintains an ongoing exchange of rich experiences. Comunitas is the Local Authority in Brazil for CECP's [Global Exchange](http://cecp.co/home/our-coalition/the-global-exchange/), a coalition uniting country-based, mission-driven corporate societal engagement organizations to advance the corporate sector as a force for good around the world. Since then, this research has taken on new forms, increasingly seeking to operate as a tool to support the management of corporate social investments. Each year, new themes have been incorporated, providing important foundations for companies to reflect on the course taken and define their future path.
