 # Coca-Cola Enterprises retains number one spot in the food and beverage sector of Newsweek's 2010 Green Rankings

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) October 21, 2010 - Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) was named the number one company in the food and beverage industry for the second consecutive year, and 54th overall, in Newsweek’s 2010 Green Rankings. Now in its second year, Newsweek’s Green Rankings recognize the most sustainable companies in the U.S. based on their environmental performance, green policies and reputation.

“Our commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability at CCE has never been stronger,” said John Brock, Chairman and CEO, Coca-Cola Enterprises. “Being recognized by Newsweek as the most sustainable food and beverage company for the second consecutive year validates the progress we have made, but we realize that there is still work to be done to achieve our Commitment 2020 goals.”

Newsweek collaborated with three research partners to compile the rankings: MSCI ESG, a leading source of environmental, social and governance ratings; Trucost, which specializes in quantitative measurements of environmental performance; and CorporateRegister.com, the world’s largest online directory of social responsibility, sustainability and environmental reports. Each company is ranked by their overall Green Score, which is derived from three component scores: Environmental Impact Score, the Green Policies Score and the Reputation Survey Score.
