 # Be Green Packaging Achieves Green Certification from Santa Barbara County

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Santa Barbara, CA – April 1, 2010 – [Be Green Packaging LLC](http://www.begreenpackaging.com) was one of the first businesses in Santa Barbara County to receive certification from the [Green Business Program](http://www.greenbizsbc.org).

The [Green Business Program](http://www.greenbizsbc.org) awards certifications to businesses that successfully complete a series of requirements and fulfill all the environmental sustainability standards. Be Green completed a series of requirements regarding solid waste reduction and recycling, environmentally preferable purchasing, energy conservation, water conservation and pollution prevention. 

 

Be Green Packaging “lives the color” and certainly recognizes the importance of environmental responsibility beyond the compliance of applicable regulation. They have made socially responsible commitments, both to the future of their community and to their business. 

 

As part of this commitment, Be Green Packaging practices composting in their office and their personal homes. In addition, many Be Green Packaging employees commute to work via the public transit system and carpools, or drive Hybrid cars. Also included in Be Green’s social efforts is a donation-matching program through which Be Green matches employees’ donations to non-profit organizations such as [Direct Relief International](http://www.directrelief.org/), the [Red Cross](http://www.redcross.org/), [Whole Planet Foundation](http://www.wholeplanetfoundation.org/) and the [Organic Center](http://www.organic-center.org/). “Living the color” is a crucial part of Be Green Packaging’s foundation and their triple bottom line business model.
