Constructed in 1906, the dam has been completely upgraded and refurbished over the last two years. Today, the dam has six new spill gates, frames and hoists, along with a new spillway control system, electrical distribution equipment, and concrete facing. With work completed, the historic structure will continue its role in generating clean, low-cost renewable energy and providing summer recreational opportunities and spring flood control on Coeur d’Alene Lake, for another 100 years.
