Since then, Whole Planet Foundation has disbursed $93 million through microfinance partners, funding 5.2 million microcredit loans creating 27.6 million opportunities for the world’s poorest entrepreneurs to create or expand a business and lift themselves and their family members out of poverty. The Whole Planet Foundation Poverty Is Unnecessary Project includes [Poverty Is Unnecessary Fund Members](https://www.3blmedia.com/news/whole-planet-foundation-poverty-unnecessary-partners-commit-325000-alleviate-global-poverty) donating $25,000 each to alleviate global poverty and the annual online auction.
